We are excited to share the wonderful news of Holy Trinity School's participation in the recent Conference of Independent Schools Music Festival (CISMF). This incredible event returned to the stage of Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall on Saturday, April 5, and we could not be prouder of the talented HTS students who were a part of this concert.
Holy Trinity School's participation in CISMF saw students from all three divisions actively involved in the choral performances, contributing their voices to three massed choirs. These performances culminated with an invigorating performance of "O Siem" by Susan Aglukark and Chad Irschick. In preparation for this finale performance, students had the opportunity to work with guest conductor, Kathleen Allan. She is a highly accomplished and sought-after conductor, composer, and clinician, celebrated for her versatility across a wide range of musical periods and her impressive international conducting engagements.
In addition, Middle School students showcased their instrumental talents in both the concert band and concert strings ensembles led by music teachers from around Ontario. Senior School students further enriched the instrumental component of the festival, participating in the symphonic band, the wind ensemble, and the chamber strings, demonstrating a wide range of musical skills and dedication across the school's music program.
CISMF was a fantastic opportunity for our students to collaborate with their peers from other schools, work with a number of different conductors and music educators from across the province, and experience the thrill of performing in a world-class venue like Roy Thomson Hall. It's a true testament to the vibrant music program at Holy Trinity School and the commitment of our students.
