Our annual HTS Fashion Show was a great success, showcasing the hard work, creativity and innovation of our talented students!
Held at the end of the school year, this much-anticipated event saw Middle and Senior School students from the Fashion Forward Program, alongside Grade 11 visual arts students, present their original designs on the runway. The energy was palpable as students debuted a range of garments, from elegant gowns to edgy vests, jackets, pants and stunning accessories.
Throughout the year, students have poured countless hours into bringing their designs to life. Their dedication was on full display during the fashion show, where over 40 unique, hand-crafted pieces were featured, designed by more than 70 students. The event wasn’t just about the garments, though—over 120 students contributed to making the show a success. They took on roles backstage, managed logistics, created hairstyles and applied makeup, ensuring that the entire production ran smoothly. The music and choreography, integral to the event's dynamic atmosphere, were also student-led, demonstrating the breadth of talent involved.
A special thanks goes to Ms Stephanie Stephens, Executive Director of Learning Innovation & Technology and advisor for the Fashion Forward Program, who played an instrumental role in guiding the students through the design process. Ms Stephens expressed her admiration for the students’ efforts, stating;
"It takes courage, perseverance, and dedication to work through the journey of designing one of these incredible garments. Most students will have spent at least 20-30 hours doing the work, with some moving well beyond that into 100 or even 150 hours for some of the truly special creations you see here today. It is an overwhelming undertaking to go from a sketch to garments of this calibre, and I am so very proud of what each of these designers has accomplished and showcased here today. It is, for me, a true example of what learning and innovation look like in action."
The HTS Fashion Show is not just a display of creative designs but a celebration of student leadership, collaboration and artistic vision. With each piece that walked down the runway, the commitment and passion of our students were evident, making this year’s show one to remember.
