The Father Bob Run has been a cherished tradition at HTS since the school first opened its doors in 1981. Originally conceived as a cross-country race, this event quickly evolved into much more, a vibrant celebration of school spirit that brings the entire HTS community together each year. Named in honour of our first school chaplain, Father Bob Grisdale, the run carries with it a deep sense of history and pride. Father Bob himself generously donated trophies for the race’s winners, and over the years, the “Father Bob” awards have become a symbol of both achievement and House unity, reminding participants of the legacy they are part of.
Excitement filled the air as participants dashed through the school’s scenic trails, all in pursuit of House points. Spectators lined the course, cheering on runners, adding to the festive atmosphere. It was truly heartwarming to witness such a strong display of community spirit. There was a palpable sense of camaraderie, with everyone, from the students to parents and staff, coming together to celebrate this tradition. The energy, encouragement and enthusiasm on campus were truly something special, reflecting the close-knit bonds that make HTS such a remarkable place.
A massive congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Father Bob Run. Whether you were racing for points, cheering from the sidelines, or assisting behind the scenes, your House spirit and dedication were truly inspiring. The Father Bob Run continues to be a highlight of the school year, reminding us all of the importance of teamwork, perseverance and community.
