Congratulations are in order for Grade 12 students Chloe G. and Stephanie F., who represented their school and their vision with pride and excellence last month. The duo took the stage in California at the prestigious XPRIZE Connect Visioneering event, a global hub where the brightest young minds gather to pitch ideas to leading innovators, scientists and changemakers. Their mission? To inspire a conversation around "Redefining Health Care for a Better Future."
The weekend was filled with incredible moments, but one in particular stood out, meeting the renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Known for his work in making complex science accessible and exciting for all, Tyson's insights added an unforgettable dimension to their experience. Meeting someone who has dedicated his life to pushing the limits of human knowledge was inspiring.
The group ended the three-day trip touring Los Angeles and enjoying the many sites that the city had to offer, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Muscle Beach and the Santa Monica Pier.
Chloe and Stephanie’s journey to California and their success on the XPRIZE stage is a testament to the power of young voices in shaping the future. They have shown us all that dreams, when pursued with dedication, can open doors to unimaginable opportunities. Congratulations to these two remarkable students. May they always dream big, believe in themselves, and continue to make the world a better place. Their journey has only just begun, and we can't wait to see where their vision takes them next.
A special thank you to Ms Jennifer Clarey and Ms Stephanie Stephens who travelled to Los Angeles and supported our students on this initiative.
