Rosh Hashanah 2024

At Holy Trinity School, we are deeply committed to lifelong learning and celebrating the diversity of our families while fostering a culture of belonging. Our community strives to embody the spirit of Ubuntu; the philosophy that there is a universal bond that connects all of humanity. Ubuntu can be translated as "I am who I am because of who we all are".

In this spirit, HTS, with the support of the Parent Association and students, launched an initiative to engage our community in sharing traditions that mark important dates and holidays across various cultures and faiths represented at HTS.

We recently marked Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, as our first celebration in this series. This special holiday holds deep significance in the Jewish faith and culture. Rosh Hashanah, which means "head of the year" in Hebrew, celebrates the beginning of the Jewish calendar. It is a time of spiritual renewal, reflection, and new beginnings.

During our Chapel service, students and guests watched an informative video explaining the meaning and traditions of Rosh Hashanah. As a community committed to lifelong learning and celebrating diversity, to enhance our understanding, our Parent Association set up a display table featuring key elements associated with the holiday.

As we continue this journey of cultural exploration and celebration, we invite all members of our community to participate, share, and learn. Together, we can create a more inclusive and understanding world, starting right here at HTS.

Shana Tova! (Happy New Year in Hebrew)
