Sweet Success at the 2025 Farmers Market

The HTS Farmers Market 2025 was an unforgettable afternoon that brought together staff, students, parents and friends of our community. Following the excitement of the Father Bob Run, the front courtyard quickly filled with families and visitors who carried the same buzz of energy and joy from the race into the market. That sense of momentum made the entire event feel vibrant and alive.

Guests enjoyed exploring rows of local and alumni vendors offering everything from farm fresh produce and artisanal baked goods to handcrafted jewelry, sustainable skincare, candles, seasonal flowers and more. Alumni vendors were a special highlight this year. Beagles of Ballantrae featured stunning collections ranging from decorative paintings to glass panels. Thomas & Co. inspired shoppers with their sustainable apparel and children’s book Superheroes Like Me. Minticai Cards added a personal touch with hand-painted watercolour cards and bookmarks, each designed with creativity and care. Seeing HTS alumni thriving in their ventures and returning to share their talents with our community made the market feel especially meaningful.

The HTS Honey booth was once again a favourite stop, with families eager to take home jars of honey produced by the hives right here on campus. Knowing that every purchase helps maintain and protect our bees made each jar a treasured keepsake. Another highlight was the student-run photo booth. Yearbook committee photographers welcomed families and friends to pose for snapshots that captured the joy and togetherness of the afternoon. The booth was constantly buzzing with groups of students, parents and teachers laughing and creating memories that will be cherished long after the day ended.

The atmosphere was as sweet as the treats on display. Visitors sampled bubble tea, cheesecakes in a jar, gourmet sauces, freshly brewed coffee and other delicious finds. At every corner, there was something new to taste, discover or take home, and with it came conversations, smiles and connections that strengthened the sense of community.

Ms Butler, Deputy Head Student Life and Wellbeing states:

"The HTS Farmer’s Market has become a beloved community event, born from the vision of two HTS alumnae, Nichole Hill '24 and Lucy Charlton '25. Their mission was not only to raise awareness and educate others on the impact we all have on the environment, but also to strengthen connections within the HTS community. They believed that as youth, they are not just the leaders of the future, but the leaders of today and that a Farmers Market would give students a chance to use their voices to get involved and take meaningful action through thinking globally and acting locally. This year’s market managers, Enzi S. and Joyce Y., upheld this vision beautifully, demonstrating incredible collaboration, competence, and a deep commitment to community. Their leadership reminds us of the talent, passion, and capacity our HTS students bring to every opportunity."

What truly sets the HTS Farmers Market apart is the feeling it creates. Watching students, staff and parents come together with alumni and local businesses reflects the spirit of support and togetherness that HTS is known for. Thank you to everyone who visited, supported our vendors and filled the courtyard with such warmth and joy.
