Andrew brings a diverse teaching background to HTS, having taught in public and private schools within the United States and Canada. He attended graduate school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving both a Master of Science in physics and Master of Education in instructional leadership. Andrew’s passion for teaching is apparent, as he has taught AP and Cambridge programs in addition to having taught several post-secondary physics courses as an adjunct professor. Prior to teaching, Andrew worked on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. His research at CMS included studies in high-energy particle physics at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and nuclear physics studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory. While pursuing his Bachelor of Science in physics at Western Illinois University, Andrew researched novel ion trap designs and published in the American Journal of Physics for his design and investigations of a mechanical analogue to the RF-Paul ion trap.
Andrew grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and recently moved to Toronto in 2016. Outside of the classroom, Andrew enjoys competing within the Toronto Recreational Sports League, playing competitive real-time strategy PC games, and participating in casual poker tournaments.
