HTS Parent Association

It’s no secret that a well-rounded education starts at home.

At HTS we believe in creating a partnership with parents to support and enrich school life, with many opportunities to get involved.

Our History

The Parent Association began in 1981 after a conversation with Headmaster Jack Rose and parent Patricia Welfare who asked how she could assist. After organizing a Christmas luncheon for students and faculty, it soon became apparent that it was necessary (and beneficial!) to have parent volunteers. The first Parents’ Support Association was created shortly thereafter.

Joining the PA

Run entirely by volunteers, the Parent Association (PA) is a valued part of the HTS community and is involved in school life through fundraising (or “fun-raising”!), community-building events, and the PA Champion program. Parents can also volunteer to be a Grade Parent and connect with our community through Grade Chats.

The cornerstone of our community is our families who come together we build upon the foundation of those connected to this vibrant, inclusive and joyful school. One of the best ways to get involved is to volunteer.

Our volunteers connect with other parents, gain a better understanding of the school and create lifelong friendships. Contact the Community Relations and Development department to get involved today.

Social Connections

The Parent Association organizes several opportunities for parents to connect with other HTS families, as a whole school community, as well as within grades or divisions. Join us for our Grade Breakfasts, Division Gatherings, our Annual Parents’ Cocktail Event and much more!

Special Events

Information about special events is typically communicated through the school's weekly newsletter, SpotligHTS, alongside the Community Relations and Development (CRD) department.

The CRD team is your best point of contact for information regarding contributions to fundraising initiatives or special events.

Fundraising Initiatives

The school holds several annual fundraising events, as well as our Gala every 2-3 years. Volunteer Chair-led committees are established for large-scale events with a variety of specialized roles.
