Applying to JK, SK, and Grade 1

JK has 16 seats and Grade 1 has 18-20 seats available. The availability for SK is limited to 0-2 students.

Upon completion of the application, you will be invited to schedule a Family Interview. At this time, you and your child will meet with a member of the Admissions Team to determine if your child is ready to participate in the Discovery Visit.

The Discovery Visit is an assessment with 10-12 students where applicants will participate in play-based activities to assess language, motor skills and concepts.

Applying to Grade 2 to 5

With limited seat availability in these grades, candidates are shortlisted and then invited for a family interview with a member of the Admissions Team.

Conditional on successfully completing the family interview, students are invited to experience a day at HTS. These applicants will spend a day in class where they will be assessed for reading, writing and math readiness.

Applying to Grade 6 to 8

Grade 6 is an entry year in Middle School with 20 available seats.

Once an application is complete, candidates will be shortlisted and invited for an interview with their parents/guardians and a member of the Admissions Team.

Conditional on successfully completing the interview, students are invited to experience a day at HTS. These applicants will spend a day in class where they will be assessed for academic and social readiness.

Grades 7 to 8

Given the limited seat availability in Grades 7-8, applicants are shortlisted and then invited to participate in an interview. Students and parents/guardians are interviewed separately followed by a writing assessment for each applicant.

Applying to Grade 9 to 12

Grade 9 is an entry year in the Senior School with 38-40 available seats.

Upon completion of your application, candidates can schedule an interview with a member of the Admissions Team. Students and parents/guardians are interviewed separately followed by a writing assessment for each applicant. Interviews can be booked directly by parents/guardians through the application checklist.

Grades 10 to 12

Given the limited seat availability in Grades 10-12, applicants are shortlisted and then invited to participate in an interview. Students and parents/guardians are interviewed separately followed by a writing assessment for each applicant.

Financial Assistance

Tax Credits

HTS provides tax receipts allowed under Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for Religious Instruction and Child Care. A receipt for religious instruction is issued for each child enrolled in the school, and childcare receipts are automatically issued for students under 16 years of age during the calendar year. Receipts are issued to the person or organization that paid the tuition fees.

Bursaries

To qualify for a bursary, students must meet the admission requirements and families must show evidence of financial need. Bursaries are intended for short-term assistance and up to 50% of the tuition costs.

Scholarships

Scholarships are merit-based and typically awarded to new Grade 9 students. We offer a limited number of scholarships to students who demonstrate excellence and leadership in both academics and co-curricular activities.

Applications for financial assistance are submitted to a third-party assessor (Apple Financial Services) who provides a recommendation. Financial assistance applications are separate from the admissions application and are completed at Apple Financial Services. All bursaries are awarded for the next academic year.

The deadline for new and returning families to apply for Financial Assistance is December 1.
