Ms Jacqueline Butler

BSc (Hons), BEd

Deputy Head of Student Life and Wellbeing

Growing up, Jacqueline was fascinated by the natural world and spent countless hours out in the woods discovering and learning about as many living things as possible. This passion for science led Jacqueline to study at Queen’s University, work in ecology research labs and eventually earn a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Biology followed by a Bachelor of Education. A member of the varsity women’s basketball team, she was named a CIAU All-Star and received Queen’s prestigious PHE ’55 Award in recognition of her outstanding athletic and scholastic ability. Jacqueline now shares her love of science, environmental science and biology with HTS Senior School students in addition to coaching both the boys and girls basketball teams. A passionate environmentalist, Jacqueline was the driving force behind the school’s 2010 Gold EcoSchools designation. When she’s not coaching and officiating basketball or protecting the environment, Jacqueline enjoys spending time with husband Andrew and their two children, Grayson and Maeve.
