The Holy Trinity School

When you arrive at the HTS Campus, one thing is clear: this is not just a school where values are learned, but a place where they are felt. In our halls, conversations and connections with each other, we honour courage, respect individuality and encourage self-discovery. We are committed to meeting each learner where they are, empowering you to explore the boundless possibilities that exist both inside and outside of the classroom.

Together, teachers and students unite, helping you to forge your own unique path towards becoming your best self. You hold the key to your own potential; we’re here to help you unlock the door and step inside.

Our Vision For Learning

At HTS, we are committed to nurturing an environment where personalized learning thrives. We’re dedicated to understanding and supporting every learner, fostering skills and knowledge to enable their success in the wider world. As leaders in learning, our mission is rooted in academic excellence and the development of character. Our commitment to our students inspires us to pursue the best teaching practices alongside diverse programs and experiences to support the development of each individual.

We provide a learning experience that cultivates critical skills, sparkles passions and prepares students for post-secondary success. Via a robust network of resources and partnerships with other organizations and educational institutions, we are able to offer an enriched program that meets the varied needs of our student body. The use of technology at HTS has further enriched the foundations of our learning experience—creating a creative, global and connected classroom experience that puts HTS students at the forefront.

Lunch Program

The HTS lunch program provider, SAGE Dining, provides chef-prepared, nutritious and well-balanced meals that are served in our bright and spacious Dining Hall. Students may choose from a hot entrée, salad bar, fresh whole fruit and a sandwich deli bar. Beverages include water and milk.

Lower School students receive morning and afternoon snacks in their classrooms. Middle School students receive a morning snack in their classroom and an afternoon snack with their lunch. Fresh fruit is available to Senior School students during the day.

Breakaway Trips

As part of our long-standing start-up programming, HTS offers students in Grades 5 to 12 the opportunity to “Breakaway” in the second week of school in September. Guided by our Student Life Framework, a program of activities and experiences has been designed for each grade in order to build community, foster new friendships and set each student up for a successful year of learning.

House System

The HTS house system is a fundamental part of life at HTS, fostering a close-knit atmosphere and instilling a sense of belonging. Every student, faculty and staff is assigned to one of six HTS Houses: Bishop Mountain, Champlain,  Langton, MacDonald, Rose and Thorne.

Every house is led by a House Captain, who is chosen by a vote. House Captains take on strong leadership roles and many House Captains go on to become Prefects in their final year of school. Captains are responsible for getting house members involved in events and encouraging all-round school spirit for house competitions.

“The house system at HTS provides students with the opportunity to become involved in and to foster school spirit, leadership, and friendship,” says Senior School teacher and house organizer Ms Katie Young. “Many graduates comment that house activities such as Trinco Day are the kinds of events they remember for years. By engaging in activities that foster unabashed fun it helps to build our strong sense of community.”

Environmental Stewardship

HTS is fully committed to environmental sustainability, and we are proud to be a Platinum EcoSchool Certified school, a Ducks Unlimited Wetland Center of Excellence and a partner of Ontario Streams and Friends of the Rouge.

As educators, we believe that it is imperative to not only surround our young people with the wonder of nature, but to teach them the value of protecting the very life systems that sustain us. Environmental education is a thread that runs throughout our curriculum and is supported by environmentally-friendly policies and procedures.

We think globally and act locally, and our location on a coldwater stream habitat on a tributary of the Rouge River means that our students are able to benefit from tangible environmental learning. We are committed to protecting and restoring the health of our campus and environment and we take ownership in the responsibility to protect areas of ecological significance, in particular the Oak Ridges Moraine, for our current and future communities.
