BA (Hons), BEd
Head of Lower School
Heather MacDonald earned both her BA and BEd at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. She also completed a Certificate of Advanced Leadership with the Canadian Association of Independent Schools in 2014. Heather joined the HTS faculty in 1996, and she has held a variety of teaching roles across the divisions of the school. Heather is currently the Head of the Lower School. In this role, she strives to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment for students and teachers. Having a good character, strong academic skills, independence, confidence, and a love for learning continues to characterize the values of the Lower School.
Heather is happily married to her husband, David, and together they have three children, Scott, Graham, and Alison. When not cheering in a hockey arena, she can be found enjoying family time at the family farm or cottage. In the future, when family life becomes less busy, Heather hopes to dedicate more personal time to her long-time passions; horses and polo!
