Pulse 360
HTS is proud to introduce Pulse 360, a high-performance dance camp designed for dancers aged 10-13 with previous dance training who are looking to redefine their abilities as dancers. Pulse 360 isn’t just a dance camp; it is a high-performance dance laboratory to build the Total 360 Dancer. From the precision of the barre to the power of contemporary floorwork, Pulse 360 fuses classical foundations with modern artistry and athleticism.
Our mission for the week is three-fold focusing on Foundation (Through classical technique and targeted strength conditioning, we will fortify your body to prevent injury and increase your athletic "ceiling”), Fusion (You will train in techniques of ballet, jazz and contemporary while fusing your athletic training) and Creation (Under the guidance of our faculty and Guest Artists, you will step into the role of a "maker” and performer, culminating in our Friday Showcase). We don’t just want you to leave with better extensions or higher jumps. We want you to leave with a deeper understanding of your own artistic voice, athleticism and tools around injury prevention.
The weekly schedule can be viewed in the link provided and the broad overview of the week is summarized below:
The Morning "Engine": We start with either Conditioning or Ballet. This ensures their bodies are "switched on" and aligned before they hit the high-impact Jazz or Contemporary movements.
The Mid-Week Surge: Placing the Guest Artists on Tuesday and Wednesday provides a "second wind" of inspiration just as the mid-week soreness usually kicks in.
The Choreographic Build: Choreo sessions are largely in the afternoon. This allows the technique learned in the morning to "bleed" into the creative work.
The Friday "Crescendo": Friday morning is about fine-tuning. We keep the conditioning session focused on recovery and "firing up" the muscles for the 1:30 PM Showcase.
Ages: 10-13
Requirement: 2+ years of trained dance experience
Enrollment: 7 to 15 campers
Sessions: Week 10 (August 17 - 21)
