Spirituality at HTS
Chapel is the heart of our community here at HTS. It's a place where, every week, we gather in faith and peace to find inspiration, a moment to center ourselves before diving into the day's activities. More than just a routine, Chapel fosters healthy relationships and open communication – the bedrock of a strong, united, diverse and generous community. Here, we explore meaning and are encouraged to live out our ideals in every facet of our lives.
As an Anglican Christian school, we embrace spiritual growth for everyone, whether they identify as Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox Christian, or belong to another faith entirely. Even those without a faith background are welcome and encouraged to participate. The development of good character is a universal pursuit and chapel plays a key role in that journey for all students.
Our focus is on the core Christian values that underpin HTS: love, joy, peace, hope, patience and self-control. These values aren't confined to the chapel walls; they permeate the entire school, woven into the fabric of our community by teachers, staff and students alike. We believe that character development is a shared responsibility, nurtured in every classroom, hallway and interaction.

At HTS, respect, compassion and dignity are paramount. These principles, rooted in our Christian beliefs, inform everything we do. They cultivate empathy and shape how we welcome each individual. We are committed to inclusivity and non-discrimination, ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected. Since our inception over forty years ago, spirituality and faith have been integral to the HTS experience. They provide perspective, grounding us in our shared humanity amidst the busyness and demands of our daily lives. At HTS, we recognize that we are all in this together and Chapel serves as a reminder of that interconnectedness.
