Literacy Camp

We are thrilled to introduce the new HTS Summer Literacy Camp, specially designed for students entering Grades 2 to 5!

This engaging two-week session provides an academic experience that blends foundational skill-building with the joys of summer activities. Our camp goal is to have children practice and strengthen essential literacy skills, including decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. Each morning, campers participate in explicit literacy instruction using a mix of small-group and independent activities. With a supportive student-to-staff ratio, every child receives individualized attention to foster ongoing growth in reading and writing.

After a morning focused on academic development, campers transition to an afternoon of group-oriented fun. Students can look forward to a variety of exciting activities, such as Reader’s Theatre, Collaborative Story Writing, Book-Based Art, on-site Water Works, off-site Bowling and Swimming at Oak Ridges Community Center.
